Hike’s Dictionary: After!

After – (preposition) Before.

Me: Hiram, you can play outside after your nap.

Hiram: No! After my nap!

Me: I think you mean you want to play outside before your nap.

Hiram: No! After!

Nope. You read that right. Hiram and I have recently been in conversations where we both agree something should occur after something else. On the surface, all seems well. The disagreement comes when we drill down to our two independent interpretations of the word “after.”
