I’ve always wanted to try out one of those baby/mommy yoga classes and with Eldyn as my +1, today was my chance. The class went just as I expected it would and therefore was all I hoped it would be.
- Eldyn started fussing right as introductions started. His fit was pretty well underway when it got time for us to introduce ourselves, but my joke about him being a troublemaker was met with a chorus of adamant (but still calm of course) “no, no, noooooohms.”
- The teacher stressed that feeding/changing/otherwise consoling your baby was fine to do whenever necessary, which meant she stood in the front doing poses while the rest of us rocked, sang to, fed and diapered our cute little distractions.
- Babies got a total pass when it came to poses. At one point, everyone under 3 months was supposed to do the “happy baby” pose (on their backs with their feet up) but the teacher said Eldyn was fine to keep laying on his tummy if he wanted.
- And a bonus, it turns out Eldyn is also the perfect excuse when things get a little tough for mommy. After what felt like way too many push-up/baby-kiss sequences, I pretended he was getting fussy and went searching for his pacifier.
We have nine more sessions, so there’s still time for Eldyn to perfect the tree pose. No pressure E-Lew!
