Hiram: 3 Years + 3 Months

See Ya Later: For the first time in his life, Hiram left me for a change. I was the one standing behind, trying not to cry as he trotted off to the cabin for a few days without us this month. Of course, he did an awesome job. And by this I mean, he was great for my parents and then made me feel like he actually missed me a little when we (finally!) reunited on the third day.
Too Funny: You know that picture of the ideal family? The one where everyone is sitting around the dinner table laughing and feeding off of one another’s jokes. It’s happening. With Hiram. He’s starting to laugh at the same things we do sometimes. Or. If he’s not laughing with us, he’s asking why we’re laughing and thinking — my parents have a strange sense of humor.
It’s Your Birthday! I am on purpose not writing too much about Hiram potty training because, well, who needs every detail of that documented on your mother’s blog? But I can say that sometimes, the process of going potty makes Hiram a little mad at us. Luckily, there’s one thing that always makes Hiram smile, even if he did just go to the bathroom. That thing? The Potty Dance. The dance moves are pretty much interpretive, but the words go like this:
In the Potty!
We were singing this to Hiram the other day and he – on his own- added this line, “It’s my birthday time!”
So now, the Potty Dance song goes like this:
It’s your birthday!
In the Potty!
Oh man, Sir Hiram. You are one awesome kid.
