Yesterday was our sixth wedding anniversary. Six years ago today we were already on the best honeymoon in the history of time and were about to start one of the best traditions in the history of all time: Favorite Things Dinner (FTD).
FTD started out of necessity when, on our first night in Maine, we needed an easy/late/celebratory dinner. We ended up assembling a fancy little feast for ourselves from a fancy little shop near our hotel. Bread, cheese, olives and sweets. Plus wine.
Now we apply this same concept for anniversaries and have so much fun shopping for our favorite things each year. We also add in things we could never justify buying for no reason but can totally justify buying for our anniversary. This year was extra fun because Hiram and Eldyn were along for the ride. Along with our traditional bread, cheese and wine, FTD this year consisted of:
- Garlic stuffed olives
- Strawberries and blueberries
- Some super fancy salted fig and almond crackers
- Hard salami
- One Roma tomato (Hiram, getting into the spirit, picked this)
- Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies
- Mochi ice cream
- And of course, corn dogs
Yum. I wish it was almost our anniversary again.
