Hiram: 3 Years + 7 Months
January 9, 2013 § 2 Comments
The seventh month of Hiram’s third year. There are seconds each day when I see him and think to myself, “Where is my baby!? This child is a grown up boy!”
Help! Hiram is so attentive to Eldyn’s moods and can often be heard soothing his baby brother by saying things like, “Don’t worry, Mama’s here,” or “It’s Okaaaaay.” This morning, one of e-Lew’s sneezes produced about 8 ounces of snot. Before I recovered from the shock of seeing what I thought was e-Lew sneezing out his brains, Hiram had already raced across the room and returned with a much-needed tissue.
I’m All Red: Hiram is definitely asserting his sense of style and has started curating his outfits more often than not. He continues to enjoy dressing in…(Dottie, how did you put it?)..monochromatic ensembles. But now he also likes to coordinate his clothes with his underwear. And by coordinate I don’t necessarily mean color-coordinate. I mean, if he’s wearing Lightning McQueen underwear, he likes to dress up like Lightning McQueen. One theme, through and through!
It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas: Despite the end of Christmas, Hiram continues to sing Christmas carols and has demonstrated the depth of his Christmas carol bench by singing new and different ones daily. Last night, he started singing “Sleigh Ride” at the dinner table. Tonight it was “Jingle Bell Rock.” Hiram doesn’t always know all the words, but that doesn’t stop him and it shouldn’t stop you either. Sing with me now:
“It’s the hi tie. It’s the hi tie. To rock and my today. It’s the hi tie, it’s the hi tie. To go ryne and mama may.”
