“Buddy, Buddy, Buddy.” Nope, no stuffy nose. This is Eldyn’s word for “bunny.” He repeats this word over and over in complete monotone as he waddle-chases them around the yard. One pudgy little finger outstretched and a look of determination in his eyes.
- The good news for Eldyn is that there are an exorbitant number of rabbits roaming the neighborhood this year.
- The bad news for both Eldyn and the rabbits is that Brad put a rabbit-deterring fence around our back yard to protect my (already pitiful) garden.
- The good news for both Eldyn and the rabbits is that a few small holes have developed in our fence over the winter. This means plenty of Buddies enjoying my tulips in the back yard.
- The great news for Eldyn, and the terrible news for the rabbits, is that the fence makes it pretty hard for rabbits to escape when being pursued by a wobbly but dogged buddy hunter. The other day I saw one squish itself out through a hole that was basically the size of a dime.
