Secret Language

February 7, 2014 § Leave a comment

When I got home from Japan, Brad and I spent a few months talking about and trying to invent a secret langauge. I don’t know why we did this, maybe it was reverse culture shock or the fact that we were still newlyweds with time on our hands. At any rate, we got as far as inventing two words that stuck. Well, one word and a punctuation word if that makes any sense. We did invent other words but then one or the other of us couldn’t recall the meaning when we needed to so that wasn’t useful.

I only say this to stress the admiration I have for Hiram who has recently started his own secret language endeavor. He has been yammering quite a bit and then pausing to explain himself. “Mom, when I saw ‘ee-keebu,’ it means, ‘I’m cold.'”

That actually makes a lot of sense to me.

B – Is this our second chance to be in on a secret language? Shall we keep it going? Ja bo!
