Vacation Remembered: Tuesday, July 29

We made it to Chicago! We got there via Amtrak train by 10 in the morning and couldn’t check in to our hotel until 3. Eldyn joined several others who took their naps in the park that day while the rest of us enjoyed some quiet time playing with Legos and reading.
Despite our efforts to “rest” we were all exhausted. Hiram even fell drool-asleep in the stroller on the two-block walk to dinner. Luckily for us, we had a fantastic two-room suite that was so fancy I actually checked the reservation to make sure I didn’t miss an extra zero in the quoted rate. (Nope, the rate was right. B thinks it’s because the hotel was under construction.) The view from our bedroom was amazing and it had a kitchen. The location was top-notch and “easily” accessible to everything by bus. There was also a pool. On the roof. That was open!
Incidentally, Eldyn is a mass-transit fiend like his mama. He started crying when we told him to say “bye-bye” to the Red Line for the last time that day. Either that or he was so tired he would have cried about anything.
