Black Hills 2015 – Day 8
July 6, 2015 § Leave a comment
Our day of rest paid off – the boys were back at it with a vengeance on Day 8. That was good because we had reservations to become Junior Paleontologists at the Mammoth Site in the morning. The program was awesome – a chance for the boys to find what seemed like actual bones in a huge, elevated sandbox. Hiram, especially, was careful to use the tools correctly and demonstrated that he does have a long attention span in the right circumstances.
Then it was straight back north to Keystone where the boys couldn’t believe their luck. A ride on the chairlift to the top of the mountain for ice cream. A round of mini golf. Gumballs and then, THEN, pizza for dinner. Not one blink of a nap which we will probably pay for tomorrow. But then, tomorrow is the day we pack up and head towards home so maybe it will make the car ride quick for Lew.
